some things are sacred

I find that I spend more and more of my time on blog-related activities: reading blogs, writing blogs, recommending blogs, commenting on blogs, looking for blogs, etc. Anyhow, this brought back memories of many good old times:

“The Perfect 3 Column Liquid Layout (Percentage Widths) - No CSS Hacks, SEO friendly, No Images, No Javascript, Cross-browser & iPhone compatible” - http://digg.com/d1o833

(Goodness, remember the days when we used tables????!?!!)

CSS is just so clean - the “holy grail” of webscripting, that I absolutely adore it. The “no Javascript” part really excites me. Although even now my portfolio site still features Javascript menus, I remember when I used to be ecstatic with my pure CSS pop-up menus - and the fact that IE6 rejected my sub-sub class hover and effectively, displayed nothing. I think I’ve always despised IE6 for the fact that it thought itself so special and could decide to display whatever it wanted. Since then I have switched between Opera, FF, and finally, Chrome.

The constant FF crashes (possibly from my many, many add-ons…) got on my nerves, and Chrome is a welcome relief. There isn’t much that it can’t do, and there isn’t much that it does do. The most recent problem, however, is that neither Chrome nor Opera displays the “older entries” page of this blog correctly. I have yet to figure out what is wrong with the style page, if any. FF and IE seem to be handling the pages just fine. This is the first time I’ve seen a light browser disappoint me, but I will blame that on the creator of this WP layout instead.

This reminds me of a nice site I used to frequent: CSS Zengarden. If I wanted to kill some time and do something fun, I would probably submit a layout here.
